About the Client

NUUK, a fast-growing home appliances and electronics brand, partnered with Crewtangle for its presence at the launch of Broadway’s first-ever flagship store in Mumbai.

Located on Hill Road, Bandra West, Broadway is India’s experiential retail destination, bringing together over 200 digital-first, homegrown, and premium brands across fashion, streetwear, K-beauty, lifestyle, and wellness. Spanning 40,000 sq. ft. across four floors, the flagship store marks Broadway’s largest retail destination to date.

Within this vibrant and highly curated environment, NUUK needed an installation that could capture attention, spark conversation, and become a memorable part of the Broadway experience.

The Objective

The goal was to create a visually striking brand installation that would stand out within one of Mumbai’s newest and most talked-about retail destinations.

The installation needed to:

  • Drive attention within a high-footfall environment
  • Reflect NUUK’s contemporary and design-forward personality
  • Encourage user-generated content and organic social sharing
  • Create a memorable visual landmark within the store

Rather than relying on product displays alone, the objective was to build an experience that people would naturally gravitate towards.

The Core Idea: Reimagining Nostalgia

At the heart of the installation was a simple thought:

What if nostalgia could become a modern-day social magnet?

The concept transformed a collection of vintage television sets into a larger-than-life visual installation. Layered with illuminated NUUK branding, custom screen content, and a bold retro-inspired aesthetic, the piece celebrated the evolution of entertainment while creating an unmistakably contemporary visual moment.

The installation wasn’t designed as a backdrop.

It was designed to become the photo.

The Design Journey

Bringing the installation to life required a highly collaborative and adaptive design process.

The concept evolved through multiple rounds of exploration and refinement, with several creative and technical changes being introduced throughout the project, including revisions close to the final execution phase.

Every iteration focused on refining:

While the project faced evolving requirements and last-minute adjustments, the team remained focused on delivering an installation that never compromised on the original vision.

Execution: Managing Last-Minute Changes

The installation involved multiple moving parts, from sourcing vintage TVs to fabrication, screen setup, lighting, branding, and final on-ground assembly.

There were many changes till the very end, but the team stayed flexible, solved each challenge quickly, and made sure the final installation looked seamless.

The result was a striking, photogenic NUUK installation that stood out inside Broadway and became a strong visual moment for the brand.
