About the Client

Comet is a contemporary sneaker brand known for its culture-first approach, blending design, storytelling, and community. Farak Wear represents individuality and rooted expression, drawing from cultural influences while embracing modern streetwear sensibilities.

The Challenge

For the launch of their limited-edition collaboration, Comet and Farak wanted to create an environment that reflected both brands’ ethos, rooted yet disruptive.

The objective was to:

  • Move beyond a conventional product launch format
  • Present sneakers as cultural artefacts, not just retail products
  • Blend heritage-inspired aesthetics with contemporary streetwear
  • Create a visually rich, immersive environment that sparked curiosity and conversation

The challenge lay in balancing nostalgia with modernity – ensuring the space felt authentic without becoming overly stylised or theatrical.

The Solution

Crewtangle conceptualised the launch as a curated cultural vignette, where every element contributed to storytelling. Instead of a standard display, the space was designed as a series of still-life installations, each treating sneakers as centrepieces within a larger narrative.

Key Experience Elements :
  • Heritage-Inspired Spatial Design

The environment drew from traditional Indian interiors, incorporating vintage rugs, carved wooden frames, brass artefacts, and heirloom-style décor.

  • Story-Led Product Display

Sneakers were styled alongside objects such as gramophones, typewriters, musical instruments, and sculptural props, transforming each zone into a visual story.

  • Contrast as a Design Tool

The richness of traditional elements was intentionally contrasted with Comet’s modern silhouettes, creating visual tension and intrigue.

  • Installation-Led Experience

Each display functioned like a curated frame, inviting guests to observe, interpret, and engage rather than simply browse.

The space wasn’t designed to instruct – it was designed to evoke

Design Approach :

The approach focused on layering, texture, and narrative depth.
  • Used tactile materials and vintage elements to create authenticity

  • Maintained restraint to avoid over-styling

  • Designed each installation as a visual composition

  • Ensured the product remained the hero within the storytelling

The goal was to create an experience that felt rooted in culture yet visually disruptive.

Results & ImpacT

  • Delivered a distinctive, culture-led product launch experience
  • Elevated sneakers into storytelling objects within a curated environment
  • Created a visually rich, highly shareable installation space
  • Reinforced both Comet and Farak’s positioning around individuality and cultural expression
  • Engaged audiences through interpretation, not instruction

This wasn’t just a launch.
It was a space where culture, design, and product came together to tell a story.
